Everything about The Baoshan District totally explained

The Baoshan District of Shanghai has a land area of 424.58 km² and a population of 740,900 as of 2001.

Landmarks

Downtown Baoshan is the location of Baosteel's HQ. Baoshan District also is where Shanghai University has its main campus. The Anti-Japanese War Memorial Park on Donglin Lu has a small museum with some artifacts from the Second World War, and a modern glass and steel pagoda. One of several schools in the district, Xing Zhi Middle School was founded by the famous educationalist from Nanjing, Tao Xingzhi. Xing Zhi Middle School has many sister schools around the world, one of which is Maidstone Grammar School in south-east England.

Transportation

Baoshan District is starting to get served by Shanghai's Metro Network, although the network doesn't stretch north enough to serve central Baoshan. The 952B bus runs from the corner of Youyizhi Lu and Youyi Lu to People's Square in central Shanghai. The number 5 tourist bus runs from Mudanjiang Lu to Jiangwan Zhen metro station. There is also a ferry terminal which serves several destinations including the two hour ride to Chongming Island and the longer, 12 hour journey to the buddhist island of Putuoshan.
